Primary Care Centre on Chafford Hundred

To: South West Essex Primary Care Trust and Thurrock Council

Chafford Hundred, the largest privately owned estate in Europe has only one General Medical Practice to service the health needs of this growing community.

Earnshaw Palmer said, "Many residents have been calling for another medical centre to be established on the estate. Clearly there is an acute need for an expansion of a wide range of medical facilities to serve the diverse needs of the growing population on the estate.

It is imperative for Chafford Hundred to have its own Primary Care Centre to provide a full range of services that can deliver improved healthcare. We believe that when Chafford residents are ill or need certain medical attention, they should be able to receive treatment locally. Many residents have to travel outside the area for their treatment this should no longer be the case.

An opportunity now exists for the expansion of medical facilities and the establishment of a Primary Care Centre on the estate. Derelict council owned land on Chafford Hundred can be used for this purpose.

We the undersigned Chafford Hundred residents are calling on South West Essex Primary Care Trust and Thurrock Council and to work with their partnership agencies in order to establish a Primary Care Centre with the most suitably qualified and experienced personnel to deliver a wide range of improved healthcare for the entire Chafford Hundred community
